Welcome to Graphicosity, I am Jeff Palmer and I am a creative director / designer and artist.

I have worked on a variety of projects such as movie posters, corporate logos, web sites, illustrations, magazine covers and layouts for such clients as Carrier Corporation, Philips, Lufthansa, Ronald MacDonald House, Xerox, Kodak, Coca Cola, Chase Manhattan Bank among others.

I have created this site not just to showcase my work ( though it does provide a convenient place to do so), but to discuss several aspects of design. I have noticed that many courses today in "graphic design" neglect areas of history, theory, design philosophy and evaluation and instead focus almost exclusively on software operation, web development and pre-press production.

From my point of view such curriculums do a great disservice to the aspiring designer. They are molded into computer operators and print technicians without any real sense of the design process.The result is what you see predominantly today, poor and standardly uninspired graphic design. Maybe I'm a bit old school, but from my point of view, design without an idea to build upon is just empty style.
